In Indian history, the revolution of 1857 is the first war of independence from British imperialism. Although the British called it a military rebellion and suppressed it very brutally so that the Indian people could not dare to do such an act again in future. But the spark of desire for freedom that this revolution ignited in the Indian mind continued to remain and it culminated in the attainment of independence in 1947.
